About the Workshop

Asia-Pacific Workshop on Widegap Semiconductors 2022 (APWS2022) will be held at the COZZI Blu, Taoyuan, Taiwan, November 13-18, 2022. The 10th  APWS (2022) follows a series of successful meetings last held in Awajishima, Japan (APWS2003), Hsinchu, Taiwan (APWS2005), Jeonju, Korea (APWS2007), Zhangjiajie, China (APWS2009), Toba, Japan (APWS2011), New Taipei, Taiwan (APWS2013), Seoul, Korea (APWS2015), Qingdao, China (APWS2017), and Okinawa, Japan (APWS 2019). The workshop presents high-level scientific and technological advances in materials and devices based on wide bandgap semiconductors and featured plenary sessions, parallel topical sessions, poster sessions and an industrial exhibition.

About Taoyuan

APWS2022 will be held in Taoyuan, the city lying in northwestern Taiwan. Taoyuan is home to the largest and busiest airport on the island, Taoyuan International Airport (TPE), which listed as the 11th busiest airport worldwide by international passenger traffic. Serving as the main international entrance to Taiwan, Taoyuan is also known as the “Land of a Thousand Ponds”. The ponds and pools, scattering across the city, played important roles in irrigation and water storage in old days. Though losing the important functions nowadays, these ponds are regaining their values in tourism, culture and ecology. Over the years, Taoyuan has developed many distinctive attractions, including the Chiang Kai-Shek and Chiang Ching-Kuo Cultural Park (Cihu), Lala Mountain, Shihmen Reservoir, etc. These popular sites attract millions of visitors every year.
